Reading Roundup #54
The library is a key factor in my reading roundup today! Their selection of audiobooks is so helpful since a subscription to Audible is expensive. Any suggestions on where else I can find audiobooks?
Work Book (for lunchtime reading):
This category is on hiatus while I’m home on maternity leave!
House Books:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – I’m finally getting around to reading this popular novel! My library only had the large print, but I’ll take whatever I can get haha.
eBooks:
The Overdue Life of Amy Byler by Kelly Harms – This book popped up on Amazon First Reads so I snagged it for free. It’s a quick fun read about a mom’s week vacation from her kids in NYC. Since she’s a librarian, there are lots of bookish references too!
Audio Books:
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling – Jim Dale’s narration of this series is simply phenomenal. I love all the different voices he uses for the characters! Professor McGonagall might be my favorite. I flew through the first book so now on to the second!
Around the Web:
Sarah’s Bookshelves Podcast: Books About Motherhood – Check out Sarah’s fun bookish podcast where she talks all things books with fellow book bloggers, authors, and others! In this episode, Allison from Mind Joggle and Sarah discuss books about motherhood.
May 2019 Books to Read – I love the Pingel Sisters for their book lists! This time they’ve put together the best books coming out in May 2019.
Game of Thrones Analysis – This writer perfectly captures my feelings about each episode of GoT this season. Her recaps are spot on and point out all the things wrong with the show now with just a few bright spots.

Yay! Happy reading!
First of all, I’d like to say happy Mother’s Day! And you are a rock star for getting anything accomplished with a newborn. Reading and blogging? You are rockin it! Second, I think I might have to listen to the audiobooks of HP based on your recommendation. I’m not going to say how many times I’ve read the series (partly because I’ve lost count), but I think it’s about time I read it again. I love the idea of a fresh take on the series!
Happy Mother’s Day to you too!! Thankfully I’m able to get a lot during naps and when my husband works from home 🙂 You should definitely listen to the HP audiobook!! It’s delightful.
I really need to try Taylor Jenkins Reid. I heard Daisy and the Six is good on audio so maybe that. Audiobooks are so expensive ): library is the best place I can think of outside of that
Evelyn Hugo is my favorite TJR read – I hope you enjoy!
