TBR Mix N’ Mingle – June 2019

It’s once again time to share our To Be Read lists for the month! I’m on a roll with audiobooks so hoping to fit in more this month. There’s also a book on here that I’ll only be able to read during daylight hours 🙂

Join us each month on the first Wednesday to share your To Be Read list!

June TBR List:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (audiobook)

Jim Dale is an incredible narrator! I’m flying through these books as soon as they’re available at the library. There must be someone else just ahead of me because I’m always waiting a week or so until the next one is available.

The Cruelest Month by Louise Penny

On to the third book in the series! I wasn’t as big a fan of the second, but so far the third is quite interesting. Murder mysteries are definitely not my usual genre, but I adore Inspector Gamache and the townspeople.

It by Stephen King

I started this last year but never finished it. Now Jay’s reading it so I’m hoping that will incentivize me to read the rest. It’s realllly long. I did enjoy the story but needed to take a break. Now I just have to remember where I left off…

  1. Ooo I could not handle It! Scary books aren’t my thing, but more power to you!

We just listened to HP 5 on audio on our vacation and it was amazing. I’ve never listened to them before, but my husband is reading them for the first time and I suggested we finish it on the road — so glad I did! Jim Dale is absolutely wonderful 🙂

    1. I wish I could get my husband to listen to them with me!! He read them once and that was enough for him. Hoping I can get my son on my side haha.

    1. Do it! Honestly I didn’t expect to like them (oh they’re just another typical murder mystery), but they’re much more nuanced than I expected.

  2. I enjoy reading mysteries and thrillers – I must add Louise Penny to my list!
IT was terrifying on TV (okay I was 9 when I watched the original in the early 90’s) but I still don’t think I’d be brave enough to read it!
