Mini Book Reviews – March 2023

Physical Books:

heartless

Heartless

by Elsie Silver

If cowboys are your thing, you’ll definitely want to give Heartless a read. It will have you longing to ride off into the sunset with a hot guy in a big hat and calloused hands.

Willa takes a short term job as a nanny for single dad and rancher, Cade. She can’t seem to grab his attention until a late night game turns steamy. All of a sudden they can’t get enough of each other, but there’s a ticking clock on her job and she’s finding the city life she came from may not be home anymore. | 5 Stars | Amazon | Bookshop.org

the reunion

The Reunion

by Kayla Olsen

Two former teen stars (and former best friends) are reunited when their show gets a reunion special. Liv and Ransom used to be extremely close but now have barely spoken in the past decade.

When they start crossing paths again for the special, she can’t help but notice that he’s gotten even better with age, and she’s drawn right back under his spell. But this time there’s more than just friendship that they both want.

It’s always a blast reading about celebrity drama so I loved the backdrop of a TV reunion. It wasn’t spectacular writing or a can’t put it down read, but it was definitely enjoyable!  4 Stars | Amazon Bookshop.org

AudioBooks:

As always, I recommend using Libro.fm if you’re an audiobook listener!! Libro.fm directly supports indie bookstores, but costs the same as Amazon’s Audible! You can get 2 audiobooks for only $15 with my link and code CHOOSEINDIE.

off the map

Off The Map

by Trish Doller

I keep hoping Trish’s books will live up to her first, Float Plan, but they’re just not quite on the same level. Off The Map was no different – a fun Irish road trip but lacking the emotional depth of her Float Plan characters.

Carla meets Eamon when she travels to Ireland for her best friend’s wedding. Eamon is one of the groom’s brothers and her ride to the other side of the country where the wedding festivities will take place. The connection between these two is immediate and they set off on a passion-filled road trip.

the deal

The Deal

by Elle Kennedy

Get ready for a steamy, mutually beneficial arrangement that will leave you breathless! When Hannah finally finds someone in college she’s interested in, she’s willing to try everything to get his attention. Even if it means tutoring the cocky, annoying captain of the hockey team in exchange for a fake date.

Garrett is also willing to do anything necessary to keep his dreams of playing professional hockey alive, so he accepts the arrangement. However, a kiss that leads to wildly satisfying…so much more… has him rethinking how much he wants to help Hannah seek out some other guy. This was such a great book!! It was well-written and had the perfect buildup to a relationship! | 5 Stars | Amazon | Bookshop.org

best served hot

Best Served Hot

by Amanda Elliot

Amanda Elliot is my new go-to author for foodie romances! Her books always deliver on cute love stories and tons of mouth watering meals.

An Instagram restaurant reviewer and a newspaper restaurant critic spar over their opposing viewpoints. Julie and Bennett’s confrontation goes viral and they reluctantly agree to pair up and review the same restaurants to build both of their social media following.
