Mini Book Reviews – June 2023: What To Read & What To Skip

Welcome to my regular round up of mini book reviews for June 2023! This one’s going to be a doozy – I’ve been devouring books recently and most of them are 4.5 stars and up!!

Let’s switch things up a bit with a heart-pounding, couldn’t turn the pages quick enough aviation thriller!! T.J is actually a former flight attendant who turned a furlough into an opportunity – and I’m so glad she did! This book was insanely good – I was utterly captivated!

The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches

In Mika’s world, witches are meant to keep to themselves to ensure their magic doesn’t mingle and draw attention. So, although it’s not spectacular, she’s used to her isolated life. Until she takes a chance on a mysterious message asking her to train three young witches at Nowhere House.

The risk turns into a great reward as she bonds with the girls…and possibly wins over the cranky librarian who just wants to keep them safe. Unfortunately Yours

Is it weird that I loved this SO much more than the first book in the series!? Something about these two characters and their crazy chemistry had me absolutely hooked!! Honestly you don’t need to read Secretly Yours to enjoy the heck out of this one – get ready for a wildly passionate love story between two polar opposites trying their best to avoid confronting how much they love each other.

Natalie and August both need money, which will come in the form of Natalie’s trust fund…after she gets married. The Fine Print

The Fine Print is the first book in the Dreamland Billionaires series, which has been on my radar for a while now. The books focus on brothers who are heirs to a theme park, think Disney! I personally love the idea of a spicy romance book set against the backdrop of running an amusement corporation like Disney.

The Fine Print definitely delivered! Buttoned-up Rowan has his reasons for demanding excellence from his employees, but new hire Zahra is making her own rules. Practice Makes Perfect

Sarah Adams is one of my most frequently recommended romance authors, so not much gets me more excited than a new book from her!! As the youngest Walker sister, Annie’s been boxed into a “sweet, angelic, meek” personality her entire life. No one would ever expect she’s been crushing on Amelia’s ruthless, tattooed bodyguard, Will.

After a chance encounter at a restaurant, Will and Annie strike up a friendship/tutor situation to help Annie be brave enough to find the perfect man to settle down with. Unfortunately, despite Will’s adamant refusal to ever be in a relationship, Annie longs for only him.
