This book list of my most anticipated new Christmas books of 2024 is one of my favorite posts to write each year!

You’ll find primarily Christmas themed books, but also a few that are simply set during this time of year. So, you can take your pick and discover one (or two or ten!) that are perfect for you!

Most of these romances are pretty low spice, but you’ll find a few steamy options at the end of this list!

Ever since I saw The Holiday, I’m fascinated by the idea of a home swap. Thus, this new Christmas book sounds right up my alley!! Clover and Bee each have their reasons for needing a change of pace. Bee wants a quiet retreat to leave her busy tech life behind and Clover can’t stand to be around her Christmas obsessed small town while she’s feeling down.

All I Want Is You by Falon Ballard

This cover just cracks me up – look at those angry gingerpeople! You can just tell this is going to be an enemies to lovers romance!  Melody is a single mom who’s desperately trying to help her twins through this tough season. The Christmas Crush by Noelle Douglas

This seems to be the year of Christmas cookies and stories with bakers! The classic holiday treat once again takes center stage in this romance novel. I’m particularly excited for this one because it takes place in a real small-town that’s near me!!

A marketing executive working on behalf of a major cookie corporation is tasked with opening a new location in New Hope, PA but the residents don’t want the chain store in their town. She ends up getting into a rather public fight with their local baker, but she’s convinced she can crush the competition. Unfortunately, his passion and ridiculous good looks make it hard to keep things professional.

Kiss Me At Christmas by Jenny Bayliss

I’m so excited to read this holiday romance starring a middle aged woman! More of these please! Harriet is less than thrilled about Christmas this year, especially since her daughter decided to spend the season in NYC. So one wine-fueled night she consoles herself with a massively out of character one night stand.

This is a romance novel, so of course it comes back to haunt her! A Winter Wish by Emily Stone

Emily Stone is known for writing Christmas romances with a ton of depth. Her novels usually go beyond just feel good, cutesy stories and address tougher topics during the holidays too.

Lexie hasn’t had contact with her dad in 10 years, so she’s shocked to learn she inherited half of his company after he passed away. The company focuses on trips that explore holiday traditions around the world. Unfortunately, the other half of the company was left to Theo, the grating up and coming young executive. The will stipulates that they must run the company together for one year before they can decide what to do next.

Lexie figures she’ll gut through a year and then simply sell her share, but the more time she spends with Theo the more she realizes there’s more to him than she expected. Plus, as she gets to know the business, she develops a new appreciation for it’s mission, forcing Lexie to deal with her feelings about her father and his legacy.

The Holiday Cottage by Sarah Morgan

My love for Sarah Morgan knows no bounds – she writes the most charming stories that focus just as much on female relationships as romantic ones. This was another 5 Star read! It is absolute perfection, with the perfect amount of found family and an adorable romance.

This holiday novel features three women – a mother and daughter running a winery plus their event planner who are all struggling in their own ways but find connection, love and forgiveness in each other. The Merry Matchmaker by Sheila Roberts

The Merry Matchmaker is a modern take on Emma, with a meddling mom always trying to “help out” her friends and family. Frankie owns her town’s Christmas themed store and works there with her mom, daughter, and a few other employees, including shy and reserved Elinor.

Despite a few mishaps in the past, Frankie just can’t help herself when she finds an opportunity for a new relationship, new job, or new anything for her daughter, employees, or close friend Mitch. It’s not until her efforts accidentally bring Mitch and her employee, Elinor, closer that Frankie realizes she needs to take a chance on herself and open herself up to something new.

This was such a heartwarming retelling that hit all the right notes! I adored having a middle aged woman as the protagonist who gets a second chance at love. Plus, this is full of Christmas-y moments since it takes place in the weeks leading up to the holidays. There’s plenty of cookie baking, holiday movie watching, small business shopping and more. It made me feel like I was right there along with the characters enjoying the season.

I also adored the side story about Frankie’s sister, Stef, and her interactions with the single dad who’s son just wants a new mom for Christmas. Christmas With A Crank by Courtney Walsh

This is a Kindle only book, so it’s a great one to pick up if you’re looking for a cheap holiday option. Currently the preorder price is only $4.99!

Former childhood friends are reunited 20 years later, but a lot has changed since they were kids. Liam now has no desire to be back in Pine Creek after his parents announced their retiring and selling their Christmas tree farm.

Olive meanwhile is still living in town, but she’s haunted by a past business failure and a ton of terrible first dates. Reluctantly, she agrees to help Liam’s parents with one final season at the farm, to help them create a magical send off for the place. She didn’t realize that’d mean seeing Liam again, who’s back but not happy to be here. I always love a good grumpy/sunshine couple so Liam and Olive sound like they’ll be a ton of fun to read about. Two neighbors face off in a classic Christmas showdown. One is a typical scrooge, who is determined to hide away from all the seasonal activities of his Christmas obsessed town.

The other is his new neighbor, who has moved in to help with her aunt Cindy. Storee Taylor Immediately gets under Cole’s skin, especially when she enters  the town’s Christmas Kringle competition. Cole is not going to let her win, so he enlists his friend Max’s help to take down the competition.

If you’re looking for a super spicy Christmas romance book, this is the one for you! Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone have teamed up for 3 years running to craft deliciously spicy holiday romances.

They always have a connection to the adult film industry, giving the classic holiday tropes we love a steamy twist. In A Jingle Bell Mingle, a one night stand leads to unexpected roommates, which could maybe just lead to love?
