New Christmas Books of 2025

Snow Kissed by RaeAnne Thayne

I can always count on RaeAnne Thayne for a cute, Christmas-y romance book and she delivered again this year! Snow Kissed is a classic small town romance with a single mom and a friend’s brother who’s in town for the season. Holly runs the local flower shop and ends up agreeing to do the arrangements for her ex’s sister’s wedding. She’s dreading the event, but her sister does a little scheming to make it better…

Ryan is in town to help with his niece and when Holly’s sister runs into him and realizes he needs some help of his own, gets him to agree to be Holly’s plus one in exchange. Holly and Ryan keep running into each other around town and find they quite enjoy each other’s company. Find out whether this mutually beneficial arrangement can last beyond Christmas!  | Buy On Amazon

merry little lie

A Merry Little Lie by Sarah Morgan

I only discovered Sarah Morgan about a year ago and I’ve been devouring her backlist ever since! Her closed door romances always focus just as much on female friendships or family relationships as any romantic ones. I love the different threads she weaves into her stories!

The Balfour family is getting ready for their annual Christmas gathering, but this year there’s a lot hiding underneath the surface. Becky finds herself stranded at the airport thanks to snow and labor strikes and she reluctantly accepts a ride home with Will, her brother’s best friend. Meanwhile, her twin sister Rosie is struggling in her new marriage to Declan. What began as whirlwind romance for them has already hit rough patches. Lastly, Hayley, Jamie’s partner, is anxious about her first Christmas with this close-knit traditional clan, especially given the secret she and Jamie are harboring. | Buy On Amazon

secret

The Secret Christmas Library by Jenny Colgan

Jenny Colgan is one of my go-to authors for delightful romances set in quaint locations and full of quirky, lovable characters.  Her latest Christmas romance book is absolutely perfect for readers because it’s set in the world of rare books! I flew through it and loved every second of the adventure.

Mirren Sutherland has stumbled into a pretty unusual career as antiquarian “book detective,” all thanks to a chance find of an old treasure book in her great aunt’s attic. Now, as Christmas rolls in, she’s been hired by the young laird Jamie McKinnon to comb through his crumbling Scottish Highland castle to track down a legendary rare book that could literally save his family estate.

But of course things get messy in a fun way: on the train to the Highlands she bumps into her rival book hunter Theo Palliser and before long Mirren, Jamie and Theo are snowed in at the castle, surrounded by clues, old books, and secrets.  | Buy On Amazon

I’ll Be Home For Christmas by Jenny Bayliss

Returning home can be full of complications (and potential love triangles) in this holiday romance. After a breakup, Fred reluctantly heads back to her mum’s place in the small town where she grew up. She’s thrust back into the life of her eccentric aunts and their quirky family business making luxury Christmas crackers.

Once she’s back, Fred throws herself into helping at the shop, reconnects with old friends (including her childhood best-friend Ryan) and meets a handsome journalist named Warren covering the local Christmas market. However, amidst the sparkle of the season, Fred has to face some hard truths about her past and what “home” really means and decide whether she wants to run back to her old life or stay and build a different one. | Buy On Amazon

christmas people

Christmas People by Ivy-Marie Palmer

This is my first book from Ivy-Marie, so I’m excited to dive into a new romance author! This has a bit of whimsy and magical realism that always adds a unique touch to any holiday romance!

Jill Jacobs got dumped on Christmas Eve three years ago and she’s hated Christmas ever since. In the meantime, she’s been chasing her screenwriting dream in L.A. But this year, she begrudgingly returns to her Illinois hometown for the holidays. One wild night out later, she wakes up to discover she’s living inside an actual Hallmark-style Christmas movie.

Now, to get back to her “real” life, Jill has to play by the rules of this cheesy holiday film world. She’s forced to follow the “plot” and interact with people she knows in real life, including both her high school crush and her very handsome ex. As she completes the story, she’s forced to confront what she’s really running from: heartbreak, failure, and the idea of letting someone heal her wound from the past. By embracing the holiday chaos, she might just rediscover why people love Christmas. | Buy On Amazon

Anne of Avenue A by Emily Harding and Audrey Bellezza

Emily and Audrey have tackled a few contemporary retellings of Jane Austen’s books and now we get a holiday version! The Anne in the title of this one is a nod to the main character from Persuasion. They do such an incredible job putting a fresh twist on these classics!

Anne Elliot thought she had her future mapped out, after breaking things off with Freddie Wentworth eight years ago because his desire to take an overseas job wasn’t compatible with her plan. But now she’s thirty, back home in New York, and still figuring out what comes next. To make matters worse, her father’s money troubles mean they have to rent her old apartment and the new tenant is Freddie…

Enter major awkwardness, old feelings, and the inevitable collision of two lives that were once entangled. Freddie didn’t expect to run into Anne again, especially not as his new neighbor. Between a flopped off-Broadway show, a messy Thanksgiving, and a chorus of well-meaning but meddling neighbors and friends, they’re forced to reckon with what they left behind, and whether their second chance might actually be the real thing! | Buy On Amazon

yours for the season

Yours For The Season by Emily Stone

If you’re looking for a holiday romance with a bit more depth, Emily Stone is your writer! You can always count on her holiday novels to be light hearted, yet meaningful. In Yours For The Season, we get to enjoy a complicated fake relationship that gets even more tangled up as the season goes on!

Melanie’s been through a lot this year. Between a rough job, her best friend moving away, and getting dumped by the guy she thought was “the one,” Finn, in front of a crowd, she’s ready to close the book on this year. Then out of the blue, Finn shows up at Melanie’s house asking for help. He needs her to pretend they’re a couple for the holiday week up in the Scottish Highlands so he can appease his family’s idea of the perfect festive season. Melanie reluctantly agrees, but only if she’s allowed to publicly dump him in return once it’s over!

However, what starts as a one-week fake relationship turns into something more complicated than either of them expected. As they spend cozy, snowy holiday time together with his big family, the acting starts to feel real, old feelings resurface, and Melanie starts to wonder if this arrangement might turn into something that lasts longer than the season. | Buy On Amazon

You Make It Feel Like Christmas by Sophie Sullivan

I’ve heard rave reviews about this one from friends who have already read it! A former one-night stand makes a reappearance causing all sorts of awkwardness for our couple.

After a one-night stand that didn’t exactly go well, Maisie and Nick are happy to go their separate ways. Until a year later, Maisie finds herself staying for a week at none other than Nick’s sister’s Christmas Tree Farm. Nick is on injury rehab and figures he might as well spend the time away from his hockey team with his sister. So, they’re both floored when they find themselves at the same place once again.

This has a bit of a second chance vibe plus the forced proximity of staying at the same farm, which leads to a can’t put down romance! | Buy From Amazon

holiday ever after

Holiday Ever After by Hannah Grace

The author of the insanely popular hockey romance, Icebreaker, is diving into the holidays! If you love small town, enemies to lovers, or big corporations versus small businesses, this will be the 2025 Christmas romance for you!

Clara Davenport has her life all mapped out. She’s working for her family’s toy company, Davenport Innovation Creative, and ready to climb the ladder, until the company gets accused of stealing a doll design from a small town toy maker. Suddenly Clara’s promotion depends on her winning over a town that already sees her as the enemy. Meanwhile Jack Kelly, the town native whose small business was allegedly ripped off, is done with Davenport and done with sweet talk. When Clara waltzes in with all sorts of charm and lofty promises, Jack’s confident he won’t be fooled again.

As we all know though, even the best defenses can be torn down. Clara’s mission leads her to engage with the town in ways she never expected, and Jack’s chilly nature begins to thaw as he sees a different side of her. Maybe she’ll be over to win over the town…and him.  | Buy On Amazon

Good Spirits by B.K. Borison

This is one of my most anticipated books of the year since I’ve loved B.K. Borison’s Lovelight Farms series.

An antique shop owner’s holiday season is upended when she’s visited by an unexpected ghost. That specter is Nolan, the actual Ghost of Christmas Past, whose mission is to guide Harriet through pivotal moments in her life. Nolan is used to these assignments and just tries to get through them as quickly as possible, but he finds himself drawn to Harriet. As the two begin to explore Harriet’s history together, they uncover deeper connections between them, and the lines between duty and desire start to blur.

With a Christmas Eve deadline coming up, Harriet and Nolan struggle to determine whether their bond can survive in the real world. This romcom retelling of A Christmas Carol is a modern, whimsical journey! There’s also a GORGEOUS special edition with sprayed edges available now! | Buy From Amazon

Merry Little Kissmas by Lauren Blakely

Not only is this a hockey romance + holiday romance, it also features a matchmaker!! I just think those type of storylines with characters who normally help others find love and then end up involved themselves are so much fun!

Isla Marlowe is a professional matchmaker who thrives on setting up everyone else. But love for her? That’s not on her to-do list. At least until a grumpy, single-dad hockey player who hates all things Christmas, ends up with her services after his teammates buy a matchmaking package for him. What starts off as a bet that Isla can find Rowan a date for the holiday gala, winds its way into fake-dating territory. Rowan reluctantly goes along but of course sparks start flying!

The boundaries between what’s real and fake begin to blur in the snowy, small-town Christmas setting. Rowan’s holiday resentment is rooted in deeper hurt, and Isla’s professional shield starts to crack under the warmth of his daughter and the festive magic around them.  | Buy On Amazon

Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal by Meghan Quinn

Normally I’m a huge fan of Meghan Quinn, but this book was sadly not for me. I ended up deciding to DNF around 10%. I’ve seen other rave reviews and heard the the full cast audiobook is great, so give it a try if it sounds appealing!

Ultimately for me the two main characters were too annoying and their interactions kept making me cringe. Usually I love Meghan’s humor and banter, but this was not it. Plus, the “narrator” aspect was very odd and took me out of the story.

The story focuses on the rivalry between future owners of an established Christmas tree farm versus a new one attempting to open up the same town. | Buy On Amazon

  1. I like your blog. Very impressive and fun!!! I know when it comes to holiday books you mostly review holiday romances but what about a holiday ‘bromance.’? My holiday novel SHORTE LIST has received rave reviews, and it recreates the origin story between none other than Santa Claus and Charles Dickens, buddys to the end – who find themselves in a small town experiencing hard times as they come to the rescue of an inventor dad who’s created a walking, talking AI Dickens that spins tales and spurns fools like the famous author. The hijinx begins when the inventor’s daughter heads out in a Christmas Eve blizzard to search for the real Santa and her inventor dad goes after her, his AI Dickens wreaking havoc in a holiday race to save the town and restore his daughter’s faith in the holidays before the cock strikes Christmas! The novel has been optioned for a movie by Hollywood producer Chip Diggins (A Walk In the Woods, Nancy Drew and the hidden staircase) and reviews of the novel are below.
