Christmas Ornaments Around the World
Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and are enjoying time with family and friends. The idea for this post came from Julie’s blog, Peanut Butter Fingers (which I read every day)! I also treasure my ornaments and the memories that go with them. So, I wanted to share a few with you!
Since I’m not a huge fan of souvenirs, I began collecting ornaments to bring back from my travels around the world. Although I only bring them out once a year, I’ve found it’s a sweet and special way for me to remember my trips. Here are a few of my favorites:
Amsterdam
Ceramic Clogs – The Dutch are famous for their blue and white ceramic creations and their clogs. This is a perfect mixture of two. Plus, it’s small enough to easily transport without breaking.
Hong Kong
Painted Bell – I spent one weekend at Stanley Market to practice my haggling skills. Everything was already super cheap, but it was fun to see how low I could negotiate the prices. Unfortunately, after I purchased this I ended up seeing it even cheaper in another shop. Guess I’m still learning!
Paris
Eiffel Tower – I grew up with a serious longing to visit Paris, passed down from my dad. When I finally made it there on a work trip, I was in heaven. I spent each weekend exploring the city by myself and loved every minute.
Grand Canyon
Wood Carved Ornament – The first major trip Jay and I took was to the Grand Canyon. Therefore, this one will always be extra special to me.
Sydney
Koala Tree – My work took me to Australia three times! On one of my trips I found this adorable ornament from a street market near Sydney Harbour.
Disney
WALL-E Ornament – Last but not least, the most recent addition to my collection is from Walt Disney World! I purchased this WALL-E and EVE ornament just over a month ago. I couldn’t resist the Christmas cuteness : )
