What I’m Loving Lately – March 2017
March was a wonderful and relaxing month! We didn’t have much on the calendar and were able to focus on unpacking and wrapping up some house projects. An empty calendar always makes me just a bit happy : ) Read on for the things I’m loving this month! Also, I’m linking up with Leigh Kramer as usual.
TV Shows
Emma – As often happens, I was scrolling aimlessly through the options on our various streaming services when I stumbled upon Emma. This is a classic BBC 4-part miniseries adaptation of a Jane Austen novel. It is just delightful and mirrors the book quite closely.
Movies
Captain Fantastic – This movie stars Viggo Mortinson as a father raising his kids in the wilderness. They are completely self sufficient and have hardly any contact with the outside world. At least until an event that requires the family to deal with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was a bit out there, but I thought it presented an interesting perspective on raising children in a completely different way.
A Man Called Ove – I just noticed this pop up on Amazon Prime and I couldn’t be more thrilled!! The book is one of my absolute favorites and I’m hoping the movie will live up to it. Has anyone watched it yet?

Events/Activities
House Projects – Now that we’re moved in, most weekends were spent on additional house projects. Jay is renovating our bar and I’ve continued painting. It’s much nicer working on bits and pieces at a time and then taking a reading break : ) I certainly don’t miss the trips back and forth between the house and the apartment.
Gown Fitting – I had my first alteration appointment! The seamstress was such a sweet older lady and was clearly very knowledgeable about her craft. I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment and try on my modified gown.
Wedding Crafting – We visited my parents one Saturday so my mom and I could work on the book page flowers for the wedding. Crafts are a lot of work!! It was great spending some time with her, though. She’s such a whiz when it comes to decor and my wedding wouldn’t look half as beautiful without her help! Thanks Mom : )
What I’m Loving
Overstock.com – I think I’m purchasing something once a week from this site! They have a massive variety of home decor and furniture and sometimes very reasonable prices. Plus, in my experience everything ships extremely quickly.
Thred Up – Admittedly, I became a bit obsessed with this site for a few weeks. I was looking for white dresses and began checking it multiple times a day to see if anything new arrived! It’s essentially an upscale online consignment store and features name brand clothing at heavily discounted prices. Also, if you sign up with my link you get a $10 credit toward your first purchase!

Book Page Flowers!!!!
Perfect in every way!
Thank you!!
Those book page flowers are gorgeous! It’s been ages since I saw the Romola Garai Emma miniseries, but I remember thinking it was very well done.
I’m also tempted to watch the movie, Emma, with Gwyneth Paltrow but it’s hard to imagine it could top the mini-series.
I love those book page flowers! I really enjoyed A Man Called Ove (book) and am looking forward to seeing the movie but haven’t watched it yet.
Fingers crossed the movie is at least almost as good as the book : )
The book page flowers are beautiful! That’s a great wedding idea. I have some book page ornaments that I made a few years ago to hang on my Christmas tree every year.
That’s a great idea to make ornaments! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them after the wedding, but I will add them to my tree now!
Those book page flowers are amazing!
