To Be Read List for February 2020

Welcome back for another round of books on our To Be Read lists! My February TBR list includes a historical fiction audiobook, an upcoming new release, and at least one re-read.

Last year I didn’t re-read hardly any books, despite how much I normally love returning to old favorites. So, one of my goals this year is to try to re-read at least one book a month.

What’s on your To Be Read List for February 2020?

To Be Read List for February 2020:

A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

It’s hard to pick which Backman to re-read, but this was my first so I decided to start there. Ove is a classic curmudgeon who is constantly annoyed by the world around him.

The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Richardson

This historical fiction novel is my Audible selection for the month. It tells the story of the first mobile library, organized by a group of women on horses in KY. There’s some controversy between this novel and The Giver of Stars since they both cover very similar topics. I’m eager to read both to compare!

The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver

I just received a copy of this eBook from NetGalley!! It’s included on my most anticipated Winter 2020 new releases, so I’m thrilled to get a chance to read it early. Lydia and Freddie have been together for years and she expects they’ll stay together forever…until Freddie is killed in a car accident. Just as she’s starting to move on and imagine a new life, she is given a surreal opportunity at a second chance with Freddie instead.

  1. Love your re-reading idea! The only audiobook I’ve ever listened to completely is Britt-Marie Was Here by Backman. It was on a train on our way out to Montana for vacay! I loved it and really want to read the book at some point…I think I missed a few things in the audiobook version.

  2. I have The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek on my Kindle and The GIver of Stars on my shelf – somehow hearing about the similarity controversy has made me pick up neither of them! I’m curious to hear your take. Jealous you got your hands on the new Emily St. John Mandel book!
