Best Cozy Fall Romance Books
The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living by Louis Miller
I’m starting off with an oldie but a goodie! This felt like a warm hug, a slice of apple pie, and a cozy blanket all in one.
Livvy is a talented pastry chef at an exclusive Boston dinner club. Unfortunately, her career goes up in literal flames after a fire in the building. In a desperate effort to get away, she heads north to Vermont and the comfort of her best friend. She wasn’t planning to stay long, but that all changes when she’s offered a job at the Sugar Maple Inn. The owner of the Sugar Maple hopes that Livvy can help her reclaim the inn’s blue ribbon status in the apple pie contest at the county fair.
Livvy and her dog, Salty, move into a sugarhouse on the inn’s property. She loves creating mouthwatering desserts for the residents of Guthrie, and she soon finds herself immersed in small-town life. Plus, she hits it off with Martin, who has recently returned home to care for his father. | Buy From Amazon | Buy From Target
Given Our History by Kristyn Miller
This could be on the list solely based on this adorable cover alone, but the story is wonderful too. It fits the fall vibes due to it’s college setting featuring two professors. This is a second chance romance between two former young lovers, so you get a dual timeline between present day and an exploration of their history and former romance.
Clara and Teddy first met at summer camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Both were homeschooled and found a connection through a shared love of literature and music. Over the years their friendship grew into love, but they had a falling out ten years ago and haven’t spoken since.
Now Clara a history professor at a private liberal arts college in Maryland — her dream job — and she’s finally up for tenure. Her world is turned upside down when Theodore is brought on for the fall semester as a visiting scholar in her department.
He may have once been her best friend, but Professor Harrison seems like a total stranger to Clara. However, as the two spend evenings working on a shared project over drinks at a college bar, Clara quickly realizes how easily she could fall for him all over again. | Buy From Amazon
The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sandu Manganna
I had to include at least one witchy book! This one is magical but equal parts cozy and heartwarming. In Mika’s world, witches are meant to keep to themselves to ensure their magic doesn’t mingle and draw attention. So, although it’s not spectacular, she’s used to her isolated life. Until she takes a chance on a mysterious message asking her to train three young witches at Nowhere House.
The risk turns into a great reward as she bonds with the girls…and possibly wins over the cranky librarian who just wants to keep them safe. This was one of the most heart-warming, sweet books I’ve read. It gave me all the warm and fuzzies, a beautiful story of found family and the perfect bit of love. | Buy From Amazon | Buy From Target
Haunted Ever After by Jen DeLuca
Ironically, Jen is the author of one of my all time favorite romance series — featuring a renaissance fair. Which now that I think of it, would fit this cozy fall romance list really well also. The first book is called Well Met and features an enemies to lovers and a sexy pirate. All the books are incredible! Anyway!
Haunted Ever After is her latest book since that series so I was excited to dive in. I just started this and I’m enjoying it so far!
Cassie makes a rash decision to get away from Orlando since she’s feeling left behind by her friends all focused on their relationships or having babies. She finds out the house she bought in Boneyard Key is supposedly haunted and the entire town leans into the whole “ghost tourism” thing.
When she meets the owner of the local coffee shop, Nick, he offers to introduce her to all their spooky stories and help her learn more about the history of her own house. She wasn’t expecting to find love, but maybe this ghost story will have a happy ending if they can both take a chance and truly open up to each other. | Buy From Amazon | Buy From Target
Falling Inn Love by Erin Branscom
If you’re looking for cozy, Hallmark vibes — this is the book for you! Beth is a romance author who’s been trying to find her place in the world after losing her family in a tragedy.
Unable to find peace other than in her writing, she ends up stranded by the side of the road in Freedom Valley, New Hampshire, where a striking innkeeper rescues her. Evan, a former marine who took over his family’s inn after the sudden loss of his father, is also struggling, but in a financial sense. Beth agrees to help Evan run the inn in exchange for room and board, but she has no intention of staying too long and letting her guard down or anyone into her heart.
Evan might have different plans. There’s something about Beth that makes Evan believe he can be the man to give her the love that she deserves. The more emotional walls Beth tries to put up, the harder Evan works to tear them down, using everything he can, including a pair of puppies he finds abandoned by the side of the road, to make her want to stay.
This has all the cozy fall vibes I’m looking for — a struggling inn, two lost souls who find each other, even puppies! You know you want to read this too! | Buy From Amazon
Just Don’t Fall by Emma St Claire
Just Don’t Fall is the first book in a 7 book series literally titled the “Sweater Weather Series”. Does it get more cozy than that?? This series each features a different romance author, so the vibes are similar but you get a variety of writing! These books are loosely connected, each set in the same small town. They’re also closed door romances, so perfect for fans of sweet Hallmark movies!
The first book, Just Don’t Fall is a hockey romance! Parker is not looking forward to Logan Barnes being back in town. Before he was hockey’s hottest bad boy, he was my brother’s best friend … and my first crush. Who ultimately ghosted me and broke my teenage heart.
Now Logan is back in Harvest Hollow, but not willingly. Since he’s recovering from an injury (and some bad press), he’s stuck playing for our minor league team. As the hockey team’s social media manager, I’ll be working with him almost daily. If you’re a fan of hockey romances or coworkers reluctantly falling in love, you’ll adore this one! | Buy From Amazon
