Reading RoundUp #25

Spring is in full swing and I’m thoroughly enjoying any chance to sit on my front porch with a book. I also have just under a month until my wedding (!!) which means lots of last minute details. However, reading always takes priority. 🙂 Check out my current Friday Reading RoundUp!

This week’s Reading Roundup!

Work Book (for lunch time reading):

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller – The Dark Knight Returns is the third graphic novel I’ve ever read. So far, I’m enjoying it more than Watchmen, but I would say V for Vendetta is still the favorite. It is at least helpful being familiar with some of the characters in this one.

House Books:

Winter of the World by Ken Follett – This massive historical novel tells the story of the political and social events leading up to World War II. It’s very easy to get caught up in the characters’ lives and I’ve been devastated a few times now because some of them are dying.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling – It’s been two or three years since the last time I read the series, so I thought it was about time for a reread. I always seem to find new details or small things I didn’t remember which makes it still exciting to dive in again!

Kindle Books:

Unfortunately I haven’t found any eBooks on my library’s Overdrive site lately that I want to read. Send suggestions!

From Around the Web:

Literary Quicksand’s TBR List – Lots of good ideas in here!

Louisville City Guide – So, Modern Mrs Darcy is inviting readers to her actual house for a party (and wow do I wish I could go)!! For those traveling from far away, she put together a delightful city guide to Louisville. It sounds like a great city to visit!

2017’s Weirdest Food Trends – What’s with all the colorful food lately??

Cute (and cheap!) Foodie Gifts for Mom – This list features 10 gifts under $25.

*Disclosure – I earn a small commission if you purchase any items through the links above. Thanks for supporting my reading habit!
