What I’m Loving Lately – September 2016
Who else can’t believe that September is already over! I feel like fall has just barely started, but luckily we’ve already seen plenty of cool mornings that turn into gorgeous days. Like always, I’m linking up with Leigh Kramer to share my September favorites!
TV Shows
Parenthood – With Jay away for two different work trips this month, I had plenty of time to fit in those TV shows and movies he’s never interested in. I’ve seen this entire series, but its too good to resist starting from the beginning.
The O.C. – Cue flashbacks to high school! I got pretty excited when I saw this arrive on Netflix. It’s hard to admit it’s a pretty terrible show, though haha.
Movies
Love Actually – Don’t judge me! I know it’s early, but I just can’t help watching this Christmas movie as soon as we hit less than 100 days until Christmas 🙂
You’ve Got Mail – This is a no-brainer anytime I’m home alone. I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen it. It’s just perfect.
We Bought a Zoo – Another movie that has become an all time favorite of mine. The story is immensely charming and funny and heartwarming.
Interview with a Vampire – Jay and I were scrolling through Starz one Sunday afternoon when we happened upon this movie. I turned it on just to check it out and we ended up watching the whole thing. He liked it more than I did. It’s a decent story, but for some reason I never really got caught up in it. I don’t think this is a book series I’ll be reading.

Events/Activities
Lehigh Valley Wine Trail – Jay took me to the wine trail’s Harvest Weekend event for my birthday this year! We had a great weekend sampling food and wine throughout the area. Check out my recap here!
Hiking at Jacobsburg State Park – After seeing Trexler Nature reserve in August, we ventured to Jacobsburg the day after my actual birthday. My ulterior motive was again scoping a place for our engagement pictures.
Mini Golf / Ice Cream – Later in September, we spent a Friday night date night mini-golfing and eating ice cream : ) After 18 holes we were tied, so we had to replay the last hole and Jay won by one stroke. Grrrrr.
Engagement Shoot – In mid-September we met our photographer at Jacobsburg for our engagement pictures! It was surprisingly less uncomfortable and awkward than I expected : ) Keep an eye out for a Wedding Wednesday post coming up soon with more pictures!
What I’m Loving
Jenna Herring Photography – Jenna is both an incredible photographer and all-around great person. I’m extremely grateful that we found her through one of my co-workers and cannot wait to see her pictures from the wedding!
Cinnamon Rolls – This past Sunday morning I woke up early and had some time to kill before church…so I decided on a whim to make homemade cinnamon rolls. Paula Deen guided me through the 2.5 hour process and they turned out quite well for a first-timer!
Ankle Booties – I’m searching everywhere for a pair of brown or grey ankle booties! I think they look awesome with jeans and dresses, but I just can’t seem to find any less than $50. Please share any tips/stores I should check out!!
Stitch Fix – With the arrival of fall, I decided to give Stitch Fix another shot. This box was a pleasant surprise compared to prior ones. See my full review next week!

Looks like you found the perfect location for your photos, beautiful! Parenthood is one of my favorite shows, I still can’t believe it’s over!
Have you heard of the new show This Is Us?? It reminds me of Parenthood (I cried at both of the first two episodes haha so that’s another indicator it’s amazing).
Those cinnamon rolls!!!! yum!
I loved stopping by your blog today. About to go read the link you shared for the book reviews! excited; love good book suggestions or reviews!
Beautiful engagement shot!
I watched the first season of Parenthood and loved it but never finished because my husband isn’t into it and we really only watch tv together. Glad you got some solo tv time in!
That’s the one benefit of my fiance traveling – I can watch all my fun shows when he’s gone! Otherwise we’re the same way and only watch things we both like.
Wow I was eating those cinnamon rolls with my eyes- looks so delicious! Enjoyed reading your recap today
Thanks so much! It’s sad they’re gone already haha.
Congratulations on your engagement . . .
and I need to make cinnamon rolls really soon.
Thanks! They’re definitely worth the effort.
That is a great picture! And The OC! Oh how I loved that show! Ryan Atwood! He was the dream! lol
I had a major major crush on Ryan in high school haha.
We Bought a Zoo is so underrated! The quote about 20 seconds of insane courage is one of my favorites.
Yes – completely agree! It’s such a simple but powerful statement.
