What I’m Loving Lately – April 2019
Since we welcomed our son on March 27, April was filled with little sleep, baby snuggles, and endless washing of bottles. We are enjoying every moment with Connor, watching him grow and learn new skills! We’ve also had a ton of visitors and managed to get out of the house with him a few times. Check out my April recap below. Head over to See You In A Porridge today for more monthly recaps from other bloggers.
TV Shows
Big Little Lies – Since we subscribed to HBO to watch Game of Thrones, we’re taking advantage of everything else it has to offer. This is my second time watching the series and I still adore it. Go read the book if you haven’t yet! I can’t wait for Season 2!
True Detective – Another HBO hit. I made it through part of Season 1, but wasn’t into it. We skipped to Season 3 and now I’m hooked. Mahershala Ali is an incredible actor and this storyline about two missing kids is fascinating.
Game of Thrones – Season 8 is now halfway over and it’s about as disappointing as I expected. Two episodes with not much happening and then a battle that was simply ridiculous. There are definitely parts that I absolutely love and I still get excited before each episode, but overall the writing and plot are not great. Not how I was hoping this series would wrap up.
Movies
Tag – We haven’t had much time to watch full length movies, but this popped up on HBO so we gave it a shot. It was surprisingly laugh out loud funny. I love that it’s based on a real life group of friends.
Books
Check out my latest reading roundup here! I’m currently reading:
Events/Activities
Library Book Sale – We trekked to New Jersey for Hunterdon County’s annual book sale. It’s a massive production held in a barn that’s filled to the brim with books. Connor slept through the whole thing, but he still got a few books 🙂
Easter Weekend – My parents held their annual celebration on Easter Saturday, so we brought Connor to meet most of my side of the family. We also snagged a few goodies during our traditional egg hunt for both kids and adults!
Visiting Friends and Family – Ever since Connor was born, we’ve had friends and family visiting a few days each week. Everyone keeps giving us food which is unbelievably helpful! We’re so grateful for all the love and support we’ve received.
Meeting the Neighbors – It’s amazing how a baby helps you meet your neighbors!! When we take him on walks in the stroller, everyone seems to run out of the house to say Hi. I’m thrilled that there are a few more friendly faces we know, now.
What I’m Loving
Newborn Favorites – I wrote up a post with the products we can’t live without now that we’re taking care of a newborn.
Kindle Paperwhite – It’s much easier to read on an e-reader than an actual book when you’ve got a squirmy baby to hold. The Paperwhite is light, thin, and easy on my eyes.
